Hotel Villa Cipressi
A complex of buildings and gardens, rich in history, built mainly between 1400 and 1800.
It was the property of the noble Serponti family (1163), of Baron Isimbaldi (at the end of the eighteenth century), of the Andreossi family, who took care of the Park, of Sir Astley and Sir Salton (at the beginning of the twentieth century) and finally of the publisher Accame. In 1980 it has been purchased, through a public voluntary subscription, by the people and friends of Varenna for a public use. Owned by various public corporations, mainly by the Municipality of Varenna, it is managed by the group R Collection Hotels which took care of the great renovation works respecting and maintaining the pre-existing architectural lines, and perfectly combining the ancient charm and the new functionality.

The object of an important conservatory restoration work, completely renovated, they keep the charm of the past offering at the same time comfortable and modern technologies. The rooms are dislocated in the three structures of the Villa Cipressi. Some are in the ancient wing of it, dating back to 1300, and even after the remodeling, they maintained the characteristics of that age.

We offer our guests two different restaurants, both located in the historic residence of the Hotel Royal Victoria: Royal Gourmet with lake view and Victoria Grill overlooking the main square of Varenna. The gastronomic offer ranges from the typical Lake Como cooking to international cuisine.
Our Chef bases his creations on the richness and goodness of the raw materials of our territory.
Our homemade pastries and a wide selection of wines complete the offer.

The Veranda Bar in the central body of the Villa, the Garden Bar surrounded by a wonderful panorama at the edge of the botanical garden and the Bellagio Bar located inside the historic residence of the Hotel Royal Victoria. A very impressive visit is the one to the Orrido di Bellano, a spectacular natural canyon where giant bowls and incredible caves have been carved out by the water over the centuries. A concrete footbridge allows visitors to admire this beauty from a unique location. The gorge is 10 minutes away from Varenna.
