A tribute to Queen Victoria of England who stayed right here, in the year 1838, when the old filanda became a hotel, leaving her name as indelible memory of her visit.
It is said that Charles Gounod, famous musician and composer, was inspired by the contemplation of sunsets on the lake from one of the hotel’s rooms.
An important restoration work, in cooperation with the Superintendence for the architectural and landscape heritage of Milan, has given back the right value to the elegance and the charm that distinguish our rooms since the nineteenth century.

4 spacious, fancy and comfortable junior suites with an amazing view on lake Como: placed on the first and second floor, they ensure quietness, privacy and comfort.
The name of each Junior Suite pays homage to the iconic masterpiece “I Promessi Sposi” by Alessandro Manzoni, authoritative voice of Italian literature,
where the plot develops on our lake.
Rooms
An important restoration work, in cooperation with the Superintendence for the architectural and landscape heritage of Milan, has given back the right value to
the elegance and the charm that distinguish our rooms since the nineteenth century. The hotel disposes of 39 simple and refined rooms with a welcoming and warm atmosphere, all provided with the best services and modern amenities, while keeping intact the historic features that give them uniqueness.
The rooms offer the chance to enjoy the beauties of Varenna, choosing between the wonderful views over the lake and the surrounding mountains, or a look
at the historic main square of San Giorgio, dominated by the homonymous church of the 14th century.
We offer our guests two different restaurants:
Royal Gourmet where you can enjoy a magical atmosphere from the lake view veranda or from the garden.
Victoria Grill in the historical main square of Varenna where lunch and dinner in a space renovated and traditional at the same time.
The gastronomic offer ranges from the typical Lake Como cooking to international cuisine. Our Chef bases his creations on the richness
and goodness of the raw materials of our territory. Our homemade pastries and a wide selection of wines complete the offer.

The Spa Suite is a wellness area that offers the same experience as a Spa in a few square meters but thought for the privacy and relaxation of a couple.
Welcoming and relaxing ambiance provided with an audio integrated system pre-arranged for MP3, USB, and Bluetooth connection,
aiming to make the couple's experience even more relaxing.
The RGB led bar lighting follows the elegant lines of the spaces, creating the ideal atmosphere to indulge your wishes. It is possible to select your
preferred color or you can let it rotate in fade. A relaxation area located at the edge of the botanical garden, on the wide and fabulous
terrace of the Hotel Royal Victoria facing the lake.
